53-year-old man charged with DUI after hitting plow truck
FAIRFIELD – On Thursday, 53-year-old Kenneth Betza was charged with driving under the influence after he collided with the plow on a truck on Ruane Street.
A report shows that he admitted that he consumed a couple of drinks at a friend’s house and he also refused to show his insurance card to officers at the scene.
Betza told police he saw the plow which had been clearing a private driveway as he passed but that it was too late to stop.
According to the police, he refused to perform field sobriety tests or submit a breath sample for testing.
Other than the DUI, Betza was also charged with traveling unreasonably fast for conditions.
He was released on a $100 bond and is summoned in Bridgeport Superior Court on 24th of February.
